About Sapiyay Collective
Sapiyay is a youth-led, Indigenous-Latine educational and research collective based in the U.S. We support Indigenous Latine youth through college mentorship, culturally sustaining education, and community-rooted research. Rooted in the spirit of “sapiyay” — a Quechua word meaning to think, to reflect, to know — our work centers the creativity, knowledge, and agency of Indigenous and Latinx communities. We build pathways for young people to thrive as learners, leaders, and storytellers by: 🌱 Mentoring students through their academic journeys 📚 Creating spaces for collaborative, liberatory learning 🪶 Supporting Indigenous language, culture, and identity 🧠 Co-producing knowledge with youth, educators, and researchers Whether through digital learning tools, storytelling, or grassroots research, we believe in education that reflects and uplifts our histories, communities, and futures.
