About Sapphire Corporation

Sapphire was formed in the year 2007 as a corporate entity to implement the vision of the directors who had been researching and planning viable business opportunities in J&K since year 2002. Harnessing Natural resources was the central idea in the ecosystem of Sapphire Corp. Post the unrest of 2008, the sapphire core team did a revision of the roadmap viz a viz the conditions on the ground and the plan was revisited keeping the conditions, resources and needs in mind. It was thus decided to take the Social-Entrepreneurship route with a focus on thrust areas viz Health, Education, Environment, Infrastructure & Agriculture. The plan was mobilized by allocating resources towards HealthCARE under CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). Subsequently, other sectors were rolled out in a phased manner. Under SHI centers equipped for GIS mapping and socio-ecological data collection were set-up in identified areas to understand the resources, needs & pain areas. Based on the collected data indigenous location specific plans for socio-ecological & economic development plans were prepared. The Sapphire vision envisions these citizens as potential partners and clients that would see Sapphire towards its cherished goal.
