About SAPSF South African Pharmaceutical Students' Federation

SAPSF, the South African Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation, is the leading organization for all pharmacy societies in South African universities. Its main goal is to represent and support the needs of pharmacy students, advocating on their behalf. SAPSF focuses on addressing student issues by pooling resources and bringing them to the attention of higher authorities. It's the primary national advocacy group for pharmacy students, aiming to enhance public health through information sharing, education,networking, and professional activities. Currently, SAPSF represents over 3000 pharmacy students and recent graduates across nine South African universities. In fulfilling its mission, the SAPSF is committed to: Uniting pharmacy students by providing a leadership base, addressing student's issues and improving their status and recognition within the health care structure Promoting health and improving health care Professional competence and the development of confidence through continuing education Provision of health care and community services Providing health care fairly and equally to all South Africans The SAPSF consists of nine branches: Potchefstroom Aptekerstudentevereniging (PASV) Port Elizabeth Pharmacy Students Association (PEPSA) Rhodes University Pharmacy Students Association (RUPSA) Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University Association of Pharmacy Students (SMUAPS) Tshwane University of Technology Association of Pharmacy Students (TUTAPS) University of Limpopo Association of Pharmacy Students (ULAPS) University of KZN Association of Pharmacy Students (UKNAPS) University of the Western Cape Association of Pharmacy Students (UWCAPS) Witwatersrand Pharmacy Students Council (WPSC) The SAPSF was founded in 1953 and it forms one of the major, united national health science organizations with the objective of strengthening the pharmacy profession from a student-centered perspective.
