Sara is a pioneer of the harmonic mixing technique, and enjoys educating other Djs about this musical concept, which allows her to blend together different styles. She has starred in a series of tutorial videos for the groundbreaking software company ‘Mixed in Key’ and was also featured on DJ Qbert’s ‘Turntable TV’. As a teen, Sara grew up playing jazz guitar, but left music school to learn the art of turntablism under the watchful eye of gifted battle DJ. After a few years of gigging and late night scratch sessions, Sara went back to school for a degree in Audio Engineering. She then secured an internship at Canada’s premiere mastering facility, Lacquer Channel Mastering. At the studio, she independently mastered records for international electronic artists and even tried her hand at cutting vinyl lacquers. Sara Simms got her start in the electronic music scene playing at after hours parties in Toronto in 2007. In a few short months, Sara rose up quickly in the Canadian club scene, and soon being booked at venues by the city’s top promoters, including Fukhouse. Her most successful achievement in Toronto was her residency at This Is London, one of the city's finest superclubs. When she’s not in the clubs, you can find Sara in the studio working on remixes and original productions. Her music weaves together her equal loves of electronic experimentation, turntablism and the guitar.
