About Sauk Valley Community College
Sauk Valley Community College is dedicated to teaching and scholarship while engaging the community in lifelong learning, public service, and economic development. Sauk confers associate degrees and certificates, but also provides customized business training, community education, and G.E.D. preparation. Students can earn a two-year transfer degree (A.A. or A.S.) and then matriculate to a 4-year institution or they can earn a two-year associate degree in applied science (A.A.S.) or shorter certificates and immediately enter the workforce. An associate degree earner from Sauk will make $600,000 more in their lifetime than a non-degree earner. SVCC graduates contribute approximately $13.3 million, on average annually, to the local economy. The College is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and governed by the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) and the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE).
