We are an Ofsted Registered Independent Residential Family Assessment Centre led and managed by a qualified and experienced Social Worker and Residential Service Manager based in Harlow, on the border of Essex & Hertfordshire with good links into London. We provide comprehensive evidence-based assessments, grounded in the established theoretical framework outlined by the Department of Health’s Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families (2000), the updated Working Together to Safeguard Children (2015) and incorporating elements of Signs of Safety (UK, 2012). Savannah Lodge also incorporates other micro-assessment tools to focus on the specific needs of each family e.g. PAMS assessments. At Savannah Lodge we offer comprehensive parenting assessments, using multi-disciplinary staff groups which generally run for 12 weeks and are regularly reviewed. Our multi – disciplinary team work in partnership with parents and family members to assess the needs of their children and to provide support and intervention whilst assessing parents' ability to meet those needs. Our assessments are designed to meet the differing needs of each family. Before the assessment starts we hold a placement agreement meeting with the parents and social worker to plan the proposed work and an agreement is negotiated and signed. There are regular planned reviews and contact with other professionals involved with the family. The assessments we provide are: Parenting assessments (residential and/or community based) Court assessments Viability assessments Reunification with birth family Pre-birth and new parent assessments We also offer an outreach service for community based and support packages.
