About Save Barton Creek Association
Through education, outreach, and advocacy, Save Barton Creek Association (SBCA) is dedicated to protecting Barton Springs, the Onion and Barton Creek watersheds, and the Barton Springs Edwards Aquifer. In addition, we support water quality protection in all Austin and Central Texas creeks. SBCA is actively engaging the public through our informative monthly Happy Hour events, volunteer opportunities, and a young professionals group called Creek Crew. SBCA informs the City of Austin of potential threats to waterways and the Edwards Aquifer at relevant meetings, such as the Environmental Commission, Parks and Rec, and City Council. Additionally, SBCA collaborates with other organizations to protect the waterways from various threats, which range from highways to sewage pollution.
