About Saved By The Sign

Saved By The Sign (SBTS) is a Black Deaf-led intercultural consultancy and social enterprise. We create spaces where racialised Deaf people don’t have to choose between parts of themselves to belong. Working across borders and communities, we shift how people see, include, and stand with racialised Deaf people, not as an afterthought, but as essential to how we live, work, and build. Our work blends media, advocacy, and education, rooted deeply in community, culture, and connection. Since 2022, we’ve partnered with 17+ organisations in over 15 countries, delivering workshops, keynote speeches, creative projects, and strategic consultancy that centres racial equity and Deaf leadership — across universities, high schools, interpreting agencies, residencies, organisations, and media companies. We offer cultural competence, anti-racism, and DEBI (Diversity, Equity, Belonging, Inclusion) workshops shaped by lived experience, critical research, and community knowledge. We collaborate with both Deaf and BIPOC hearing communities to challenge exclusion, build meaningful representation, and create spaces where racialised Deaf people can lead, heal, and thrive. Everything we create is grounded in anti-racist, anti-ableist, and culturally responsive practices. At our core, we’re working toward a future that fully reflects who we are, loved, seen, and unapologetically rooted in care and accountability.
