Established in 1991, Saviya Development Foundation (SDF) is a pioneering non-governmental, non-political, and charitable organization in Sri Lanka committed to fostering gender equality, human rights, and community empowerment. Focused on uplifting children, youth, and women, SDF designs programs that address critical areas like youth development, women’s empowerment, and social inclusion, providing sustainable livelihood options, health services, and educational support to ensure lasting impact. In its mission to create a fair and inclusive society, SDF collaborates with prominent international partners, including the United Nations (UNDP, UNFAO, UNODC), the World Bank, the Global Fund, and USAID. These partnerships enable SDF to bring resources and expertise to marginalized communities, addressing complex challenges like HIV prevention, vocational training, child protection, and support for individuals with special needs. Through strategic projects, SDF actively promotes women’s empowerment, building skills and leadership capacity to ensure gender equality.
