Sawa Sawa means 'It will be okay' in Swahili. It is a 501c3 nonprofit registered in Austin, Texas. We are a black woman founded, sustainable, slow, ethically made, handmade eco-fashion and art brand handmade by artisan women in Kenya using ancient tribal craftsmanship. Our mission is to empower artisan women make a sustainable, dignified income using weaving, beading, basketry, art and more. Our brand creates luxury fashion bags and accessories using locally sourced, natural, organic, sisal fiber sustainably harvested from the agave plant. Our products are eco-friendly, earth conscious, biodegradable and circular. We use the revenue to fund programs that empower the women and their families. We equip their daughters and girls with tools to understand reproductive health and menstrual hygiene.
