About Scarsdale Strings
Scarsdale Strings, founded in 2011, is a woman-owned small business that uses comprehensive arts education services to introduce whole school reform in schools across New York City. We provide all the resources required to implement these programs- from instructors and instruments to curricula and administrative support. We believe that the arts by principle are integrative and shouldn’t be viewed as a stand-alone discipline. This ethos gave rise to a STEAM based approach- integrating A in STEM disciplines-that all our programs and components follow. We function as a Community Based Organization (CBO) that uses arts based initiatives to implement whole school reform- engaging students, teachers, parents and the community.
