About Schinella's Your Local Market

It all started in the 1940's with Uncle Sam’s store (The Fruit Palace) in Broken Hill. The family business flourished and Joe, Ralph and Sam grew up working in their father’s store (The South Fruit Market) also in Broken Hill. In 1985 the Schinella’s migrated to Adelaide bringing with them generations of knowledge, a strong work ethic and a love of fresh food. Family has inspired the Schinella brothers to go back to where they began and it’s at the heart of their new brand — Schinella’s Your Local Market. We're excited to continue our family business under our new brand, but we also love being part of the Adelaide Fresh Fruiterers family - you’ll always see the infamous cherries throughout our store. We support local growers and food producers We love to support your local food producers who create unique flavours with produce from the Fleurieu Peninsula to the Barossa Valley, Riverland and Adelaide Hills and Plains. We’re passionate about sharing our love of food with you! We've supplied quality fresh fruit and veg to our local community for over 70 years. We offer local and imported specialty foods; cheeses, continental goods, cured meats, nuts, condiments, sweets, artisan baked bread and fresh flowers, fish and homemade meals.
