About Schmidt Baking Company
Schmidt is part of the H&S Family of Bakeries, along with H&S Bakery and Northeast Foods. Together we make up America’s largest family-owned variety baker. Our 24 branches service the greater eastern seaboard with over 400 DSD routes. Schmidt Baking began a partnership with H&S Bakery and Northeast Foods in 2000, continuing the business from one family baker to another. In 2004 H&S Bakery acquired Schmidt Baking and added hearth baked bread and rolls to the existing product lines. We take our responsibility to protect our environment seriously, making it part of our long-term vision of sustainability. This includes: • Innovating our packaging design to help reduce landfill use. • Using a fleet of natural gas vehicles and high-tech ovens to curb air pollution. • Investing in state-of-the-art facilities that reduce energy consumption. • Using the latest water recovery and recycling technology to minimize water waste.
