About School of Sacred Art of Seville (AESS)

Why study sacred art? There is a wide demand for quality works of religious art by dioceses, parishes, religious congregations, confraternities and brotherhoods, religious educational centers, new temples and individuals. There are very few artists with the knowledge and training necessary to make quality sacred works of art. The artistic training obtained from the courses offered by the EASS allows the student to possess knowledge that can be applied in works of quality art in general, beyond the sacred art in particular. However, a general artistic training does not allow to make works of excellence in sacred art, neither artistically nor theoretically. Why choose to study sacred art at EASS? The EASS has a faculty made up of great artists who are experts in different disciplines and artistic techniques. Learning traditional artistic methods, almost disappeared in many disciplines, along with the latest technological advances in current teaching. In a single center the student has at his disposal a wide range of different techniques and artistic disciplines: painting, sculpture, artistic ceramics, embroidery, restoration and conservation, goldsmithing, stained glass and music. Complementary theoretical teaching including Theory and History of Art, Sacred Liturgy, Theology and Iconography. Conception of School-Workshop, in which students have the opportunity to participate together with their teachers in the artistic commissions received by the EASS. Participation of the works of the students in exhibitions and artistic events of their own and outside the EASS. Support and training for the entrepreneurial entrepreneurship of the students. Personalized teaching thanks to the low ratio of students per course. Extensive list of prestigious collaborators in the art world. Collaborations with religious and civil institutions, Spanish and foreign educational centers, companies and art workshops.
