About Scientists Warning Foundation

Scientists Warning Foundation is the international organisation that works in cooperation with the Alliance of World Scientists. We do not recognise or work with any other group calling itself Scientists Warning or similar. We are a 501 (c) 3 registered in California. 'Protection and Preservation of Life on Earth' is the mission of Scientists Warning in conjunction with tens of thousands of scientists World-wide who have endorsed the three clear warnings issued to humanity. Scientists Warning Foundation works to fulfil that mission through raising awareness of the three warnings issued by the World’s Scientists in 1992, 2017 and 2019. Each of these warnings gravely declares the state of emergency faced by mankind and provides irrefutable scientific evidence of the scale of damage done and projected. Each warning seeks to provide guidance for the actions which need to be taken. "Human beings and the natural world are on a collision course." 1700 scientists including a majority of the Nobel prize winners in the sciences declared in the 1992 first World Scientists Warning to Humanity. Over 22,000 scientists from 184 nations have now signed the World Scientists Warning to Humanity - A Second Notice published in 2017. This warning states that severe, existential threats to human well-being are posed by our own behaviour. The warning advocates strong steps must be taken to reverse negative trends and advocates for a groundswell of public and corporate pressure to force political leaders to face reality and act to avoid an ecological catastrophe for all of humanity and life on Earth. On 5 November 2019 the World Scientists’ Warning of a Climate Emergency was issued and is now endorsed by 13,000 scientists from around the world, who state clearly and unequivocally that planet Earth is facing a climate emergency.
