About Scott Mitchell Veterinary Care
The Practice was founded in 2001 by Roger Scott, after returning to his hometown of Hexham after 12 years training and working elsewhere. The Practice was created to meet all the diverse animal care needs in this area with dedicated Equine, Farm and Small Animal departments. In 2003 Colin Mitchell joined the Practice and provided specialist knowledge and expertise to further develop The Equine Surgery. Over the years the Practice grew, moving into our Hexham premises with modern theatre and in-patient facilities. In 2018 we opened a branch in Tow Law, to help serve the geographical spread of our clients across Northumberland, Tyneside and County Durham. In 2021 the Practice divided into two companies: Scott Mitchell Veterinary Care Ltd and The Fold Farm Vets Ltd. Both companies continue to work alongside each other, providing dedicated services to our clients. The Equine Surgery and The Small Animal Surgery are both staffed 24 hours per day at our Hexham practice.
