About SDM / UB-Farmatec
The SDM and UB-Farmatec form a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) partnership affiliated with the University of Barcelona. We specialize in providing comprehensive services for the development of all types of medicines, nutraceutics, cosmetics and medical devices (solids, liquids and semisolids). We also provide services for the development of analytical methods and quality control services. The SDM works under ISO9001:2015 Standards, underscoring our dedication to maintaining high-quality processes. Furthermore, at UB-Farmatec we operate under a GMP environment, allowing the manufacturing of biobatches for clinical trials. As a unique Technology Transfer Center, we play a pivotal role in fostering research, development, and technology transfer within the healthcare sector. Our mission is to facilitate the transformation of innovative ideas into marketable products, positioning ourselves as an indispensable partner for comprehensive and innovative projects in the healthcare industry. We actively encourage collaboration with both the hospital network and the broader industry. With a rich history encompassing over 370 projects and 1500 short services, our collaborative efforts with pharmaceutical companies and the health sector—both nationally and internationally—have been instrumental. We have secured 27 patents and actively participated in 14 institutional competitive research projects, showcasing our commitment to advancing healthcare through innovation.
