Seattle Center Monorail provides a fun, quick and direct link between downtown Seattle's Westlake Center (5th Avenue and Pine Street) and Seattle Center, home to the Space Needle, Museum of Pop Culture, Pacific Science Center, Chihuly Garden and Glass and more! The Monorail is open daily and departs approximately every 10 minutes. The Monorail was built for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair to provide a crucial link between downtown amenities and the fairgrounds. Today, the Monorail carries over two million passengers per year. Seattle Center Monorail is owned by the City of Seattle and has been operated by Seattle Monorail Services, a local, family-owned company, since 1994.
