About Seaventures
Seaventures Inc. is a certified Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) owned and operated by Bob Lohrman, Chris Clark & Stephen LaMothe, all of whom are Coast Guard Licensed Masters w/(100-ton certification). We have extensive experience in conducting scientific research, environmental monitoring and collection projects including Regional Surveys, restoration projects for NOAA, Ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, San Diego, as well as diverse projects with private oceanographic and environmental clients. The Early Bird II is a 42-ft U.S. Coast Guard Inspected research vessel (RV). It is equipped with two differential GPS's w/plotters, 2kW color fathometer, radar, side-scan sonar, 21 kW 3-Phase generator and bunking space for up to 6-persons. Large rear deck supports of 13-ft hydraulic 1-ton A-frame, deck winch w/5000-ft of cable and a large boom and winch. Seaventures wide breadth of services includes both vessel support and specialized skills and experience for just about any type of marine survey effort, with the primary goal of providing a suitable platform for conducting marine-related efforts and to offer technical expertise and solutions to potentially challenging situations. A brief list of the services offered by Seaventures include sediment collection using a variety of different methods (e.g,vibrocore, gravity core, piston core, box core, van Veen grab), biological sample collection (e.g., bongo and plankton nets, otter trawl, lampara net, purse seine, gill net), efforts using ROV/submersibles, hydrographic surveys, water quality sampling equipment (e.g., rosettes, CTDs, and collection bottles), diving operations, and mooring/buoy deployment & maintenance. Seaventures also has a large storage area, and owns a variety of sampling equipment, with specifications available upon request. Seaventures is fully licensed and insured Their knowledge of the Southern California waters and experience makes them a valuable asset to any project.
