About SedX
At SedX, we aim to support schools, colleges, youth services and other organisations that work with young people aged 13+, with their delivery and planning of aspects of the Relationships & Sex Education curriculum (RSE). At SedX we recognise that RSE can often be a challenging and emotive area of work for both staff and young people. We aim to be able to offer support and guidance sensitively and appropriately according to levels of need and existing awareness. At SedX our experienced team can tailor education opportunities for both staff, and young people presenting a variety of needs. This includes young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and those children and young people not currently engaged in education, employment or training (NEET). At SedX we also recognise that RSE needs to work sensitively, yet honestly with groups and individuals where cultural and/or religious sensibilities need to be considered. At SedX our experience has led us to realise that by the time young people have reached the age of sixteen, many still possess very poor levels of knowledge regarding sexual health and healthy relationships. The effects of an easily accessible and huge supply of pornography has given many young people a false and often detrimental perception of themselves and others in terms of sexuality, sexual health, body positivity, consent and healthy relationships. SedX seeks to redress this imbalance and provide education that is informative, factual, realistic and non-judgemental. We are fully trained and experienced in the delivery of RSE education in line with the Fraser Guidelines. When working with young people, our standard practice in relation to safeguarding concerns is to raise them immediately with relevant staff at the organisation or institution where the issue occurred. All SedX staff are trained in regards safeguarding and have DBS certificates that are no more than three years old.
