About Seeds for a Future

Since 2009, the Seeds for a Future Program has been a proven solution for reducing the chronic malnutrition and disease plaguing rural Guatemalans for generations. We provide long-term training and resources for families and communities to produce their own nutritious food, improve their health, and increase their incomes. Our Program is currently operating in 21 communities across 8 states in rural Guatemala. 5,400+ families have graduated from the Program, impacting over 32,400+ people. An independent, randomized controlled trial of the Seeds for a Future Program was conducted from 2014 to 2017 by the Institute for Nutrition in Central America and Panama (INCAP). Funded by the Nestlé Foundation of Switzerland, INCAP’s research revealed that the Seeds for a Future Program cut childhood anemia rates from 47% to under 5% in families participating in the Program, over a 90% reduction. Seeds for a Future will soon provide online the training methods and practices for replicating its flexible food security and health program worldwide.
