About Select Milwaukee

Our mission is to help people achieve and maintain homeownership because it enriches their lives and strengthens neighborhoods and communities. A trusted nonprofit resource for homeownership services since 1991, we’re advocates and experienced homeownership professionals serving home buyers and home owners. What makes Select Milwaukee different is our non-profit vision: to build a united thriving Milwaukee, one homeowner at a time. Over just the past five years, our work has helped over 7,500 individuals and families achieve, preserve and sustain the dream of homeownership. Our certified Homeownership Specialists have helped over 848 new home buyers. Together with our Rehab Specialists, they’ve assisted many of these customers combine their home purchase with rehab and green energy efficient improvements. Our Preservation Specialists helped nearly 300 customers save their homes from imminent foreclosure. The work of our organization has created and/or sustained over 250 jobs and generated nearly $30 million in total economic impact on Milwaukee. Select Milwaukee has earned a national reputation for its Employer Assisted Homeownership benefit program. Because of our commitment to a green, sustainable and healthy organization and community, we have achieved designation as a NeighborWorks Green Organization. NeighborWorks® America is one of the country’s preeminent leaders in affordable housing and community development. Select Milwaukee is a top-rated “exemplary” chartered member of NeighborWorks® America. Select Milwaukee is an early adopter of National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling and is also a HUD-approved counseling organization.
