Self-Fix Ltd is a self-service automotive company with a workshop designed to fill a significant gap in the UK’s automotive landscape, especially and initially in Hull's motorcycle community. Hull ranks third in the UK for registered motorcycles and is the second-largest passenger port, connecting motorcyclists from Northern Europe to mainland Britain. Capitalizing on this strategic location and with the desire to assist, Self-Fix Ltd will offer a multi-faceted approach, including a biker-focused café and a workshop featuring rentable self-service workstations. The company will also extend its reach through remote services, attending bike nights, track days, and other events to assist bikers further afield. The café, tentatively named The Greasy Hoon, will serve as a central gathering spot for Hull’s motorcycling community, evoking the spirit of classic café racer culture. With a welcoming and character-driven atmosphere, it aims to foster camaraderie and connection among bikers, offering a space where riders can meet, relax, and share experiences, especially those who feel disconnected or marginalized. The self-service garage will provide rentable workstations equipped for riders to maintain and repair their own motorcycles, addressing the common frustration of lacking the proper tools and space. Services are designed to be affordable and include a "self-fix" option, a "we fix" service for professional repairs, and a "guided fix" option where guest mechanics will teach riders how to repair specific parts. In addition, Self-Fix Ltd will offer clothing, second-hand motorcycles, bike gear, bike storage, and equipment rentals to further support the motorcycling community. We are currently in the funding stage of the business, and whilst we are generating funds through the sale of motorcycle memorabilia, we are also looking for funding opportunities.
