Seluna is a MedTech startup dedicated to advancing the clinical diagnosis and management of pediatric sleep apnea. We take a pediatrics-first approach, developing the first auto-scoring Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) designed specifically to interpret type 1–3 pediatric sleep studies for children aged 1–21 years old. Built in collaboration with pediatric sleep physicians and technologists throughout the UK and USA, our software will integrate with electronic health records and commercial sleep software. At its core is a pipeline of proprietary machine learning algorithms layered with biosignal processing and statistical analytics modules, designed from the ground up and will: 1. Automatically and objectively score pediatric sleep studies based on AASM criteria, reducing manual analysis time and inter-scorer variability. This will enable hospitals and clinics to process more studies, faster, with existing staff. 2. Characterize sleep apnea endotypes, going beyond AHI to extract novel digital biomarkers directly from PSG data to help physicians make better treatment decisions, to identify which children are most likely to benefit from medical management, or ENT referral and adenotonsillectomy surgery. 3. Generate a structured clinical report with diagnostic summaries and treatment recommendations to support data-driven decisions. Our impact: A better, faster, scalable, and more standardised diagnostic pathway. The Seluna SaMD is designed to support, not replace, clinical decision-making.
