Company Overview: Its Mongolian born, London-based designer Semka Dashnyam, who launched her prestige women's cashmere brand in 2005. Uniquely familiar with the Mongolian people and countryside, she opened a small factory in Mongolia in 2008 where she employed only the most experienced local knitters and cashmere experts. With its dry, cold climate, altitude and its shepherding traditions, Mongolia is the ideal place for the production of the most precious and luxe cashmere.This rare fiber is harvested by hand combing in Mongolia each spring when the goat's fur falls naturally. Each goat produces 250-300 grams of cashmere per year and it takes the combings of 3-4 goats to make one jumper. Buying cashmere from SEMON is buying a piece of the luxurious, to keep you warm and cosy all year long.
