About Serjeants' Inn Chambers
Serjeants’ Inn specialises in important, high profile medical, police, regulatory, criminal and public law cases, often involving political, ethical or social issues. Our barristers deal with litigation relating to the issues of our day such as assisted suicide, the refugee crisis, historic child abuse allegations and national security, to name just a few. Many of our cases span elements of both public and private law. They affect the rights of both individuals and the state. Chambers and Partners notes that we have “unrivalled expertise at all levels" and in addition to numerous individual rankings we are recommended as a leading set for clinical negligence, Court of Protection, professional discipline & regulatory law, police law, public & administrative and product liability law. Our set is led by our joint Heads of Chambers, Angus Moon KC and Michael Horne KC. They provide vision and direction: under their tenure the set has seen significant expansion and progression which has been acknowledged in a series of awards. Since 2016, we have expanded our silk team from 9 to 24 KCs, recruited 34 new barristers and won 31 awards. We have modernised Chambers’ structure through the appointment of a multi-disciplinary senior management team; this combines three leaders who have different specialisms while working closely together to give the set a more efficient and client-focused approach. We have retained a Senior Clerk, Lee Johnson, who manages our traditional clerking functions but, in Martin Dyke and Catherine Calder, we also have Joint Chief Executives. Martin and Catherine are both experienced solicitors who have each worked in management roles at the Bar for over 20 years. In addition to 9 clerks we have a dedicated client service team of three. We have made this investment because we want to ensure that our service is always as strong as our legal expertise and to enable us to build a much closer, more strategic relationship with our clients.
