About Serveis Lingüístics de Barcelona

Serveis Lingüístics de Barcelona (SLB) is a language services co-operative based in Barcelona, Spain. We started out in January 2014, and we are excited to share our vision with you today. Co-operative members: We want to connect with freelance professionals who are eager to share their energy, their experience, and their expertise with us. We welcome language teachers, trainers, translators, interpreters, proof-readers, materials writers and editors, and anyone else who provides a language service. Those professionals working within the co-operative will expect fair pay, a share in profits, and the knowledge that they are contributing to the community in a positive way. Our services We aim to serve (but do not limit ourselves to) the following groups: • Students of languages • Private clients • Other cooperatives • Businesses and schools We promise to: • Provide a fair, transparent and competitive pay to co-operative members and non-members undertaking work for the cooperative. • Engage with the community around us; in particular we will offer services with flexible pricing to ensure open access to everyone • Respect the environment and aim for as paper-free a working environment as possible • Share all available resources with fellow co-operative members. All members of the co-operative have an equal ownership share, and also share certain obligations, as set out by the official statutes
