About Servicemembers Undertaking Disabled Sports

SUDS (Servicemembers Undertaking Disabled Sports) is a multi-sports sports program working with injured and ill veterans who served from Afghanistan & Iraq. SUDS started in February of 2007 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda Md and in 2020 relocated to "Military City USA, San Antonia, Texas. he guiding principles focus on the betterment of the lives of disabled veterans through active-participation in adventure sports. There is no cost for the veteran to participate and we believe that the outdoors is often where the magic happens and is a key element to the rehabilitation process. SUDS coordinates multiple excursions to keep our participants active in sports and to provide a unique source of fellowship and camaraderie similar to what they experienced while on active duty. SUDS provides access, training and support for adventure sports such as SCUBA diving, rock climbing, mountain biking, whitewater sports, backpacking, fishing, canyoneering snow skiing and even yoga. Over the years, SUDS and its group of dedicated volunteers have provided immeasurable benefit to hundreds of disabled veterans across the country through the rehabilitation and therapy that participation in adventure sports provides. SUDS is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization, EIN is 26-1315733 and member of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC 94754).
