Started in September 2019 by freshmen at Tulane University, SexyCakes has cooked and delivered over 15,000 orders of quality, affordable, and delicious breakfast food. Catered towards the convenience of students, SexyCakes offers well priced meals through a user friendly website to efficiently delivers to any campus dorm within 30 minutes, and directly communicates with customers through Instagram and text. Aside from cooking unique customer named items like the French Kiss (Croissant Bacon, Egg, and Cheese) and Grill Next Door (Grilled Cheese), SexyCakes provides for students in unique, innovative ways. Between appointing brand ambassadors to lead social media marketing campaigns, to creating interactive elements including raffles, food drops, and speaker giveaways, and even collaborating with campus organizations for academic and philanthropic events such as the Startup Tulane Entrepreneurship Club’s Excel Accounting Seminar and the SDT’s chapter spring fundraiser, SexyCakes has created a highly engaging and fun student community. Even after generating substantial revenue and nearly 250,000 impressions of originally generated instagram content, SexyCakes leads a new wave of innovation for college startups. From designing high demand apparel lines to producing in house media content including live student giveaways, operational promotional videos, and a documentary, the “Cakes Nation” stands as not a company, but a culture. Now approaching an incredibly rapid and lucrative expansion, SexyCakes is currently taking on an updated and evolved operation and menu, developing a state of the art mobile app, and facing exponentially increasing brand recognition. Founded on the principle to “Deliver hot, delicious food in a timely manner,” SexyCakes has evolved, diversified, and produced success that leads the future of start up innovation.
