Our Mission SYT's mission is to create community and make really, really good plays. We believe in excellence, and we believe the best work grows from inclusive communities where everyone is welcome, everyone belongs, and artists are supported with a living wage. Our History Since 2004, SYT has nurtured young spirits to challenge themselves and each other to achieve more than they believed they could do. We commit to education, performance, and creative collaboration, presenting three full-length Shakespeare plays each season. Our Approach We confront Shakespeare's timeless works, enabling students to challenge, reshape, and retell stories through their lens, amplifying voices from marginalized communities. Our quest is relevance, resonance, and representation. Beyond Performance Our ensemble embarks on transformative learning journeys with programs from day-long residencies to 6-month Ensemble Intensives. Our scholarship fund meets 100% of financial aid requests. The SYT Experience Students typically join us at ages 12-14, growing with us through high school.
