About Shalimare Incorporated
Shalimare Inc. was established as a 501(C) (3) non-profit organization in 2004. Its primary mission is to ensure that persons with developmental disabilities live a qualify life and achieve personal successes. Following the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we too recognize “that the inherent dignity and the equal and inalienable right of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice, and peace in the world”. This is true to persons with disabilities and their families. The manner in which we serve this mission is through training, housing, social interaction with the community, and direct support of the individual's personal goals. Services provided to these individuals include self-care and daily living training; advocacy in access to service and supports; recreation and leisure opportunities for social interaction; and transportation coordination. These services primarily serve to increase the level of independent functioning in the least restrictive environment to improve the quality of life and utilize community resources for recreation and socialization.
