OUR FIRM Founded in late 2015, SHAPE – an acronym for Studio H Architecture Planning Environments, is an Atlanta + NYC Design firm offering architectural, interior, master planning and urban design services. SHAPE was formed as a collaborative studio of designers engaged in Interiors, Architecture, Urban Design and Master Planning. OUR SERVICES ARCHITECTURE + INTERIOR DESIGN SHAPE offers strong project experience and leadership in a broad range of Architectural and Interior Design project types. We believe in working closely with our clients and user groups to understand their needs, criteria, objectives and unique qualities We approach each project with a problem-solving method that leads to a design solution to satisfy that specific condition and meet the budget goals of the project. PLANNING: MASTER PLANNING + URBAN DESIGN SHAPE offers master planning and urban design services. The scale of our projects ranges from the master planning of entire communities, districts, and cities to urban infill. OUR HISTORY The co-founders of the firm, Mark Hill and Herman Howard, met at the beginning of their professional careers while working together at the internationally renowned NY firm of I.M. Pei + Partners which later became Pei Cobb Freed + Partners. They each went on to significant leadership roles in nationally prominent firms prior to forming SHAPE in late 2015. In mid 2021, Mark Hill assumed the position as sole principal of the firm. He has studied under several master architects and has worked on and led many exciting and award-winning projects across the country. His history and project involvement includes several project types outlined in this portfolio.
