Their friendship blossomed through their involvement in annual Shapeathon events, which connected local NGOs with enthusiastic volunteers. During these events, they noticed a common problem: while participants enjoyed the experience and found it rewarding, there was often a lack of follow-up and sustained engagement. Inspired by this insight, Hanna and Silvia decided to take their commitment to the next level. They envisioned a more permanent solution that would keep the momentum going and provide continuous support for expats eager to make a social impact. And thus, ShapeOn was born. ShapeOn is more than just a platform; it's a vibrant community where expats can engage in social entrepreneurship, collaborate with impactful organizations, and develop innovative solutions to the everyday challenges they face.
