Welcome to Shapiro Brewery – a world-class microbrewery so authentically Israeli that it was born right in the heart of Jerusalem… actually, in a Jerusalem basement. It all began when Dani Shapiro, the oldest of six Jerusalem siblings, spent some time studying in Milwaukee, the “beer capital of the world.” Milwaukee was home to dozens of boutique microbreweries, as well as major commercial producers – so why was Jerusalem, an iconic global city with a unique culture, lacking its own authentic craft beer? Back home in Jerusalem’s German Colony, Dani and his family got to work, set on building a truly Jerusalem-style craft brewery and introducing Israel to exceptional beer. After 10 years of home brewing, the Shapiro family teamed up with brewmaster Yochai Kudler and launched the Shapiro Brewery. Today, our beers are sold and enjoyed all over Israel, in pubs, bars, supermarkets, specialty stores, and more. We focus on straightforward, no-nonsense ales, stouts, and seasonals that deliver reliably refreshing flavor and excellent drinkability, while also pairing well with classic Israeli cuisine.
