Share Squared’s mission is two-fold: allow folks to donate money to the charities of their choice simply by donating clothing, and provide affordable access to high-end fashion. We accept donations of gently used women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, shoes and accessories. The giver designates the charity to benefit from the sale of the items and, once the items sell, 20% of the profit is donated to that charity. The clothing donor then receives an official acknowledgement of donation from the charity for income tax purposes. We recognize that current options for donating clothing are limited to a small number of charities so we have designed a hands-off process which allows our contributors to make monetary donations to a wide range of organizations they feel passionate about without increasing their charitable budgets. Share Squared is also working to partner with select non-profit and charity organizations that we feel best exemplify the philanthropic values that drive people to identify with and donate to them. Recognizing the success of shopping forums such as Gilt.com, RueLaLa.com, Hautelook.com and others, Share Squared aims to become a dominant online shopping destination where high-end and luxury fashion is made accessible to all. In this way, Share Squared will provide a vibrant interactive medium by which our patrons may share their unique sense of style while simultaneously supporting the good works of multiple deserving charities and the people they serve.
