About sharefound - The Share Foundation
Here at The Share Foundation (sharefound), we believe every young person should have the chance to step into adulthood with confidence, resources, life skills and financial independence. We are the registered charity that manages savings schemes for children in care across the UK on behalf of the Department for Education. This includes running and opening Child Trust Funds (CTFs) and Junior ISAs (JISAs) for young people, ensuring the money in accounts is not only protected but actively built upon via contributions, and the value maximised for our young people when adulthood begins. Alongside financial schemes, we invest in incentivised life skills programmes that prepare young people for the future: · Stepladder Plus - our financial education and skills for independence programme that enable participants to ‘earn as they learn’. · Stepping Forward - our introduction to the performing arts programme that develops transferable life skills while rewarding creative progress with contributions to savings By working with local authorities, fostering networks, businesses, corporate partners, and individuals who share our vision, we ensure that young people in and leaving care are supported to thrive - with savings to rely on, skills to carry forward, and opportunities to seize. We also lead on the national Child Trust Fund recovery campaign, where we help all young people born in UK between 1st September 2002 and 2nd January 2011 discover and reclaim their lost Child Trust Fund accounts – details can be found at findCTF.sharefound.org. Our aim is to break the cycle of disadvantage by maximising young people’s savings and nurturing life skills that inspire a shift in outlook - so they can focus on building their future, not reliving their past.
