About Sharjah Television
Sharjah Media Corporation: A government entity concerned with the development of the media sector in Sharjah. Established in 2009 as per the Amiri Decree No. 25, Sharjah Media Corporation (SMC) aims at nurturing the local media talents and enabling them to keep up with the demands of this ever changing world through recruiting the best experiences, and implementing the best practices of both the public and private corporations in the country, in coordination with the concerned stakeholders. Additionally, SMC looks into consolidating the role of media while concentrating on the social aspect represented by family development; Refining the practices of media that they are based on professionalism, excellence, creativity, responsible freedom of speech, and following the ethics of the media industry without prejudice to the rights of others; and enhancing the competitive position of Sharjah in the media industry. Sharjah TV A committed and responsible TV station meant to become a major source of knowledge and culture, while emphasizing the core values of the UAE and the region. Sharjah TV was inaugurated on 11 February 1989 by His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah to add value to each and every house in the area, and it is to Sharjah TV’s credit that it kept going on the same track up until today.
