Welcome to she codes;! she codes; is a community of women in technology, created to reach 50% of software developers woman within a decade in Israel. Founded in 2013 by Ruth Polachek, today she codes; includes approximately 50,000 members. Our members include women who want to learn software development or make a career shift into high-tech, developers who want to advance their skills and network with other women in high-tech and high school students who are learning to program. Our core values are Believe in Yourself, Perseverance, and Community. We operate over 40 branches all over Israel. Branches include programming learning tracks and project co-working with support from community volunteers. In addition, there are enriching and interesting lectures at the branches which grant tools and vital programming knowledge, as well as coding skills, inspirational and career lectures. These lectures are also open to women who are not members of the branch. Volunteer opportunities at she codes; contribute to the personal and professional development of members. Branches, learning track planning, events, and more are all volunteer-run. A new learning cycle opens at the beginning of every quarter in each of the branches around the country. The meetings and the activity in the branches form a framework which allows personal and professional development. Even more important, the meetings give an opportunity to meet more women - to form professional relationships with experienced women who love to program and talk tech.
