Lighting up lives - Founded in 1897 on the outskirts of Glasgow, Shearer Candles is the UK's longest established lifestyle candle company. Messrs Shearer & Harvey had worked as chandlers in the Candleriggs district, historically the heart of candle making. At that time, customers still bought their ingredients before the candles were made to order. Brighter than ever - Over a century later, Shearer Candles prides itself on delivering high quality candles that contain only the finest ingredients. We’re still a family business, but our customers today include leading retailers, hotels and restaurants, not to mention the candle lovers of all persuasions – who can’t help but fall for our beautifully crafted candle collections. Proudly Scottish - As the oldest producer of lifestyle candles in the UK, we are upholding a long tradition of Scottish Candle Making — witness the fact that Candleriggs, built in 1724, is one of the oldest streets in Glasgow. It's also where our business began — the original owners first worked here before opening their own factory on the city outskirts in 1897. Perfection takes time - Taking an average of 6 months from drawing board to first flame, we don't rush things. Each candle has its own recipe & our inspiration comes from the colours, forms and fragrances found in the distinctive Scottish landscape.
