Sheffa is an Agricultural Cooperative Association, which was established in 2012. The company was established by 260 kibbutzim united in seven cooperative organizations, out of the vision and belief that there is a way to reduce the price of agricultural investments for farmers, and with the aim to become the world leader in the field of plant health and its environment. The company's plant, which is located in the Valley of the Springs (Emek HaMa'ayanot) in Israel, produces a variety of smart fertilizer compounds that are classified as solid, soluble, or granular fertilizer, liquid fertilizer, biostimulants, and microelements. The compounds are manufactured with adjustment to the way the minerals are absorbed in the plant, from the root or from the foliage, based on the recommendations of a professional agronomist, who examines parameters such as environmental conditions, samples of leaves, soil, and water. Sheffa operates on three interrelated levels: Maximizing agricultural produce at minimum costs, along with promoting environmental awareness. The company develops accurate and optimal nutrient solutions for the plant, which include organic fertilizers and absorption enhancers, applied in soil or through the hydroponic system. In addition, fertilizer compounds are produced in order to avoid excess fertilization and reduce the use of pesticides. At the same time, the company is engaged in the development of knowledge-intensive R&D programs, in field trials, and in finding innovative agricultural solutions to streamline and facilitate the work of the farmer in the field. For this purpose, the company operates a development laboratory with a professional team that includes engineers, leading chemists and technologists, and together with the agronomists working throughout the country, it maintains direct and continuous contact with the farmers.
