Founded in 1987, we are now the leading supplier of sustainable shellfish including crab, shrimp, lobster, and prawns, to the local and international markets. Our ethos is simple: we bring the bounty of Ireland's shellfish to the world in a sustainable manner so that future generations can enjoy this healthy and delicious natural resource. Our factory is located in one of the most beautiful and scenic parts of Ireland, Castletownbere in West Cork. A town of about 1,500 people, it is Ireland's leading whitefish port and is second to Sydney, Australia as the safest, natural harbour in the world. Our fleet of modern boats bring seafood straight from the sea to be swiftly processed, ensuring full traceability, an extraordinary freshness and a daily supply of year round fresh and seasonal seafood. Only boats which are consistently checked, conforming with stringent regulations, are chosen as suppliers to our factory. On arrival at the factory, the shellfish are carefully checked. Only the finest quality, sustainable seafood is selected for Shellfish Ireland. All our shellfish are wild caught, using pots, traps and boats fully accredited with ISO 65. This commitment to natural fishing methods ensures that the shellfish served at your table is of a superior quality with juicy and succulent meat that tastes of the ocean.
