About Shevlin Family Foundation
We have lost too many to the overdose epidemic! By honoring the lives of those we've lost – we move from despair to sharing HOPE! The Peggie and Paul Shevlin Family Foundation or SHEVLIN FAMILY FOUNDATION 'fills the gap' for those transitioning out of in-patient addiction treatment. Persons experiencing addiction need practical help when they complete treatment. We step in to provide food, short-term housing options, transportation and/or other practical needs when money is tight and needs are great. We offer a Residential Sober Living Program for Men in long term recovery (2 or more years of continuous sobriety) located in our Chester PA location. Helping individuals and families access and navigate treatment options is always a privilege. In addition, we build and nurture sober communities; develop and deliver programs aimed at addiction awareness and prevention; collaborate with social services, treatment centers, recovery houses, foundations and other public charities that support and encourage individuals in recovery. Over the last 6 years, The Peggie and Paul Shevlin Family Foundation has assisted over 2000 persons in the Delaware Valley. We serve all counties in Southeastern PA surrounding the largest open air narcotics market on the east coast- Kensington, which remains the epicenter of the Philadelphia Opioid Crisis. By offering close to 800 scholarships/grants to those in early recovery, we help our recipients thrive, removing obstacles to their long-term sobriety, encouraging them in their journey.
