About Shine Relief Trust

Shine Relief Trust is a charity founded in 2008 by Phil and Deborah Irvin from Hull and Hastings and Suzen Zidana from Malawi. The aim of the charity is to support children living in extreme poverty in Kuntamanji, Malawi. Our mission is to help some of the poorest children in one of the neediest areas of Malawi. We seek to create awareness of those trapped by extreme poverty, unable to fulfill their God given potential. A number of Malwian children die daily of preventable and curable diseases. We believe this should not continue when we have the resources to do something about it. Shine Relief’s head office in Hull, UK works to generate funding for the activities in Malawi. The organisation receives no funding from the government, so the income is received from donors, trusts and through various fundraising activities. The organisation is currently feeding over 450 vulnerable children daily, supporting 7 child-headed families, 10 children are being sponsored through school. The programme in Malawi is led by Suzen Zidana with the help from local volunteers.
