About Shine Strengths Programme at Woodford House
The Shine Strengths Programme focuses on connecting girls with 12 Shine Strengths that already exist within each of them. The programme endeavours to not only identify these strengths, but provide clarification around what they are, how powerful they can be and how to further develop them. This self-awareness journey is achieved through the Shine Core Programme for Seniors, Shine Summit for Juniors, in addition to new elements introduced in 2022 including; Shine Star, Shine Certificates, School Camps, Shine Pop Ups and much more. Life is not Linear. And that’s a good thing. We reassure our girls that the magic of life is in the detours and curves. It is in the unexpected bends in the journey that we discover the character strengths that make all the difference in personal satisfaction, professional success and purposeful societies. Learning through shared stories We start with workshops to introduce the strengths on stage and move into breakouts or physical challenges to put learning into action for deeper understanding. In the days that follow we offer masterclasses that teach the strategies a girl can use to employ their strengths. At the heart of both the workshops and masterclasses are Shine Mentors, sharing personal and specific stories from their non-linear journeys, and how they found, and used, their strengths. Our Mentor Network The universal reaction from our Mentors is that they get as much from the Shine programme as they give. Word-of-mouth has driven growth in the number of mentors, and has resulted in an incredible network of women and men from a variety of backgrounds, careers and experiences.
