As our logo says “Clicked at Sea ~ Delivered at Shore”, ShipsKart is an online marketplace where vessels, vessel owners, operators and managers can purchase marine products, consumables, equipments and service products required for the uninterrupted and efficient operations of the vessels. ShipsKart aims to deliver the following technology-driven outcomes to vessels, vessel owners, operators and managers: o Sustainable and verifiable cost efficiencies o 100% transparency o Reviewed and curated quality o Reduced lead times and assured delivery o Real-time tracking of orders from placement to delivery The problem that ShipsKart is targeting is the current status of the supply chain and procurement process in the industry. Today, most maritime and offshore companies use antiquated and manual methods of receiving requisitions, managing them, seeking vendors, placing orders and arranging deliveries of spares, stores, consumables, provisions, etc., that are critical for the smooth and seamless operation of the thousands of vessels across the world. Even though these items account for 30-40% of total operating cost, very few companies (and these are the large ones) invest in making the system and process efficient, trackable and predictable.
