Shivani’s Kitchen is a Nova Scotia-based food company founded in 2014 by Shivani Dhamija, an immigrant entrepreneur who moved to Canada in 2011. What began as a small home-cooked meal delivery service has grown into a respected producer of authentic Indian food products, known for quality, convenience, and clean ingredients. Sauce Bases Our shelf-stable sauces are made with coconut oil and serve as thick, flavorful bases — including Butter Chicken, Curry, Chickpea, Vindaloo, and Paneer Butter Masala. They are gluten-free, low in sodium, and made with fresh, real ingredients. No fillers, no shortcuts — just bold, authentic taste. Paneer Our fresh Indian cheese is crafted for both retail and foodservice. Made in Canada with a focus on taste and texture, it’s become a favorite among chefs and home cooks alike. Growth and Distribution Starting with cooking classes and homemade meals, Shivani’s Kitchen expanded into local farmers’ markets and opened a takeout restaurant at Halifax’s Seaport Farmers’ Market in 2018. In 2020, the restaurant was closed to focus on scaling product manufacturing. Today, our products are available in major retailers including Costco, Sobeys, Foodland, and Supercentre stores across Atlantic Canada, with growing distribution in Ontario and expansion plans across North America.
