Shiverick Imports was established in 1986 to source independently grown, terroir-driven wines in an era when big business ruled the wine market. This thoughtful boutique portfolio has grown through the relationships that David Shiverick has built with some of the world’s finest wineries. David’s talent for discovering exceptional, food-friendly wines has delighted savvy wine drinkers with finds from France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Austria, and the west coast of the United States. Our selections will inspire you – whether you are looking for wine from an unknown vigneron from the Jura or a highly-regarded Grand cru from the Côte de Nuits. David’s philosophy on choosing wines: Good wine should tell of its origin – there must be an expression of terroir. Great wine should tell of its origin at twenty years. Wine should never be adulterated with characteristics or practices that cloud the true nature of the wine's origin. Three of the premier estates in the portfolio: Jean-Louis Chave, Max Ferdinand Richter and Domaine de la Solitude, have nearly 1,500 years combined viticulture and wine production experience. This history and generational devotion to these sites reflects David’s advocacy of family-owned businesses, independent-minded growers and natural production methods.
