About Shop Made in DC
Shop Made In DC is a retail initiative with a mission to grow the DC maker community. As the first store dedicated to only Made in DC products, the Union Market, Georgetown and Wharf locations are home to over 200 makers and nearly 5,000 MADE IN DC products including apothecary, apparel, art, furniture, jewelry, home decor and stationary. Founded by Stacey Price of People Make Place and Michael Babin of Neighborhood Restaurant Group, Shop Made in DC is a space dedicated to showcasing the talents of DC-based designers, artists, and makers. This mission-driven retail initiative serves as a platform for creativity -- enabling ideas, products and people to converge and drive traffic to neighborhoods while creating low-entry to market opportunities for DC-based makers and small retailers. Launched in 2017 with support of DSLBD, Golden Triangle BID and Boston Properties, there are now 3 dedicated stores that continue to grow DC's maker economy.
