Did you know that the disadvantage gap for pupils in reception year widened in 2022 to its highest level since 2014? In the aftermath of the pandemic our economically disadvantaged pupils are more vulnerable than ever. At Shotton Hall Research School, we are passionate about supporting schools to close the attainment gap for disadvantaged children through evidence informed practice. What can you expect from us? We support teachers and leaders through the exemplification of the latest educational research. We are a small team with authentic, recent experience of school improvement. As a team, we love to innovate with evidence, supporting schools to design bespoke solutions to the issues they face. One example of innovation is our design of reading diagnostic assessments and subsequent bespoke interventions which fit pupils’ needs. You can read more about this here.
