Shumi Stay Japan is introducing a new concept in leisure travel: taking your hobby (shumi) on holiday. We are offering hobby clubs and groups the opportunity to spend a leisurely time in Japan doing their hobby and sharing it with the locals. Japan offers one of the most fascinating and friendly places for foreign visitors, but the language barrier and lack of knowledge hinder foreign visitors from being able to undertake extended stays and to be able to meet the locals. Japan is a great place to do leisure activities, and Japanese enjoy hobbies like bird watching, calligraphy, cycling, pottery, hiking, painting etc. and they enjoy the opportunity to share their passion for their hobbies with foreigners. Our aim is to provide a service that meets the unfulfilled needs of foreigners and Japanese alike to enjoy meeting people from other countries while enjoying their hobbies together. Shumi Stay Japan is run by Phil and Kazuko Ingram who have acquired over many years an intimate knowledge of Japan and of how foreign visitors can best enjoy their time in Japan. Shumi Stay Japan is not a travel or a tour guiding agency.
